Overview

SG90 is used for TowerPro's analog micro servo and is also printed on many clones whose electronics, travel, current and dimensions are not controlled by TowerPro. The official analog product page specifies 4.8V nominal operation; it does not establish one safe current figure or pulse-width range for every clone. Treat the control input as servo pulse control, provide a separately sized supply for the measured stall current of the exact unit, share ground with the MCU, and confirm connector lead order before applying power.

Connect control to D9 and share ground. Power the servo from a supply sized for the exact unit's measured stall current rather than assuming the Uno rail is sufficient.

  • Do not size the supply from an uncited generic SG90 current figure. Measure stall current or use exact vendor documentation, with margin.

  • gnd must be common with the MCU's ground even when the servo gets its power from a separate supply — a floating signal reference is a common cause of jittery/erratic movement.
