Overview
The small white 2-pin connector on the edge of countless dev boards and battery packs, almost always used to carry a single-cell LiPo's + and - leads. 'JST-PH' specifically names the 2.0mm pitch in JST's connector family — a name that gets casually applied to lookalike connectors that are actually a different, close-but-incompatible pitch. JST alone makes PH (2.0mm), XH (2.5mm), ZH (1.5mm) and several others, and 2.0mm vs 2.5mm is close enough that a wrong-pitch mate can look like it's going to work right up until you either can't seat it fully or bend a pin forcing it — always match the pitch, not just 'it looks like the right connector'. The other gotcha is worse: unlike the pitch, battery polarity on 2-pin JST-PH packs is genuinely NOT standardized across vendors. Some wire + to pin 1 (often red wire), others wire it to pin 2 — there is no universal convention, so plugging an unfamiliar battery or board together on the assumption 'JST-PH always means + is on the left' is how people have reverse-fed a charging circuit or a boost converter. Always verify polarity with a multimeter on an unfamiliar pairing before mating them for the first time.
